Oumar Niasse is supposedly a contender to start for Everton versus Burnley – as per BBC Sport – in a move that would surely raise a few eye-brows about the Premier League.
Despite the fact that Wayne Rooney has been declared fully fit following a recent injury, Oumar Niasse is allegedly a contender to start for the Toffees in their Premier League clash against Burnley this Sunday.
The 27-year-old has only made nine appearances for Everton, yet he appears primed to play his tenth game for the club following his impressive brace against Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.
The Senegalese striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Hull City, where he scored five goals in 19 games for the Tigers.
This would obviously still come as a shock though – despite last weekend – as Ronald Koeman had seemingly made it very clear that the striker had no future at the club.
Ronald Koeman’s side has struggled for goals this season, and new signing Sandro Ramirez has yet to score his first goal for the club.
Having thrived in a bit-part role against the Cherries last weekend, there is no reason why Niasse can’t emulate the same form against Burnley.
He’s got pace and power and maybe, just maybe, his Everton career is about to really get going.
