Transfer Tavern have heard the news that Portugese news outlet, A Bola, have published reports today that FC Porto will not give Watford loanee, Miguel Layun, a permanent deal in the summer after failing to fulfil his defensive duties to the appropriate standard.
Porto have an option in Layun’s contract to seal his services at a cost of six million euros but are set to let the midfielder leave in the summer.
The 27-year-old has registered 18 assists this season and Real Madrid are said to be monitoring his situation from across the border, according to Spanish publication AS.
Layun spent time four years at Club America, based in Mexico City, where he scored 15 goals in over 140 appearances. He then cemented a permanent deal with Watford in January last year before being loaned out to Porto at the start of the 2015/16 season.
The Mexican has also scored three goals at international level and is an established member of the senior squad with 32 caps to his name.
