Despite there being plenty of football on today, here in the Football Transfer Tavern we have still found time to talk about the claims in the Daily Mirror who note that Arsenal are monitoring Aston Villa defender Matt Lowton.
Villa may have faced difficult times this season and are still a good shout for the drop yet given their average squad age is 23 there is plenty of talent and indeed potential in the squad meaning that Paul Lambert and his players feel that they have plenty left to give.
Given that the club have been told by star man Christian Benteke that his future at least for now lies with the club it seems increasingly unlikely that any approach for another of their young stars will be well received.
Arsenal are looking to rebuild their side this summer and have their eye on a host of players, one of which seems to be Matt Lowton who despite being only 23 years of age has managed to receive rave reviews from the club scouts who have identified the full back as a major target for the summer.
Are Arsenal really interested in the Villa full back? Rate this rumour below.
