Swansea and Newcastle fight for highly-rated Ligue 1 defender

Swansea CitySwansea City and Newcastle United fans playing darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing a transfer story linking both clubs to the same player.

The Daily Mail is reporting that both clubs are plotting a move to bring Lamina Kone to the Premier League.

The big centre back currently plays in the French first division side Lorient, and impressive appearances for the club have gained him plenty of interest.

Kone is also reportedly wanted by fellow Premier League sides Norwich City and Sunderland, with Sam Allardyce a long term admirer of the player afte trying to sign him during his time in charge at West Ham United.

Both Swansea and Newcastle are looking to tighten up at the back, and both view the 6ft 2ins defender to make their defences more solid.

It appears as though the debate between the two sets of fans as to where the player will end up could go on long into the night here in The Transfer Tavern.

Which club should Kone join? Let us know in the comments below!
