The Swansea City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the new campaign, with several new players set to arrive at the Liberty Stadium before the transfer window draws to a close.
One man who has been targeted by the Swans is Welsh midfielder Joe Allen, who had been the subject of interest from his former club.
The landlord has spotted an article on Sky Sports that claims that Swansea will wait to discover the outcome of Allen’s talks with Liverpool, before deciding whether or not to press ahead with a transfer.
Allen was a key part of the Wales team which reached the semi-final of the European Championships this summer and interest could come from other clubs other than Swansea too.
The 26-year-old didn’t hold down a regular starting berth at Liverpool last season and a move to play regular football would delight the player and the Swansea fans here in the Tavern.
One of the ardent supporters is over by the pool table and he thinks that Swansea would be a superb destination for Allen, stating that he could propel the Swans into recognition for European qualification through the league.
Swansea City fans, would you welcome Allen back at the Liberty Stadium? Liverpool fans, what do you make to a possible departure?
