Swansea City are the latest club to be linked with a move for Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony, according to local newspaper South Wales Evening Post.
The prolific Ivory Coast international forward is in-demand this summer and the Swans appear to have become the most recent side to have tabled a bid for the striker, who netted an incredible 31 times in his 30 Eredivisie league games last season.
Just yesterday Alan Pardew and Newcastle United were linked with a move for Bony after chief scout Graham Carr outlined him as a potential Premier League star.
However Michael Laudrup’s side have taken the incentive by making an offer for the 24-year-old thought to be around £10 million.
The Swans could yet face fierce competition from free spending Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and Premier League rivals Everton in their pursuit of the powerful frontman, nicknamed ‘Danny Cool’ by the Arnhem faithful.
It remains to be seen by punters in the Football Transfer Tavern whether the reported interest from the Liberty Stadium outfit is genuine but they are likely to be on the lookout for another bargain forward after the success of Michu last season.
Can the Jacks pull off something of a coup by landing Bony over a whole host of other clubs this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
