There’s a big summer on the horizon for Swansea City manager Paul Clement, who has a lot of work to do in order to improve his squad for the upcoming campaign.
The Swans struggled throughout large parts of the last campaign and were only saved by former Derby County boss Clement, who did a fantastic job of turning things around in such a short space of time.
But looking ahead, it’s clear the boss is going to have to add extensively to his teams ranks over the summer if they’re to avoid the need to scrap at the bottom of the table next season.
And one man they’ll hope will be a part of first-team proceedings again next season is key attacker Gyfi Sigurdsson. But that just got a lot more difficult as Swansea have rejected a £30million bid for the Icelandic international, according to the Mirror.
The former Spurs man shone for Swansea again last season but big-spending Everton certainly aren’t shying away from spending the big money this summer as they target success in the Europa League next season.
Keeping hold of Sigurdsson is going to be a big ask but if Clement can do just that, they’ll be in a good position for the upcoming campaign.
