Swansea City star looking for Champions League football next season

ayewayewayewmmssThe Swansea City fans who are playing darts in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that one of their strikers could be on the move this summer.

RMC via ESPN is reporting that Andre Ayew has not ruled out a move away from the Liberty Stadium this summer and that he is looking to be playing Champions League football sooner rather than later.

Ayew was close to leaving the Welsh side for Liverpool in January but the move failed to come off for the player.

He admits he is happy with how his first season at the club has gone, but is unsure whether he or manager Francesco Guidolin will be at the club next season.

Speaking about his future, Ayew said: “For my part, I find that I’ve had a good first year in a new league.

“I prepared myself for the Premier League but I admit that it’s very intense. There are a lot more duels and it’s very tiring.

“I’m happy with the year, the club, the supporters who like me a lot.

“I don’t know if the coach, Francesco Guidolin, is going to stay, I did indeed hear the rumours about Bielsa but more so at the start of the year.

“Whether it’s the ‘Big Four’ or with a club qualified for Europe, I have the ambition of rediscovering the European Cup every year, like I experienced with Marseille.

“I want to continue to work. I’m aware of my qualities but I don’t regret choosing Swansea. We’ll see if I stay here next season.”

The Swansea fans in The Tavern would be disappointed to see Ayew leave this summer and hope the club can persuade him to stay for at least another season.

Our landlord has to agree with the Swansea faithful, and thinks the striker is an excellent player for the side, and is more often than not involved in the club’s attacking play.
