Mirror Football report that Swansea City have increased their offer for top transfer target – Wilfried Bony of Vitesse Arnhem.
The Swans had already bid a club record £10.2 million for the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international striker but that was rejected by the Eredivisie side.
However Michael Laudrup isn’t prepared to give up for the Dutch top flight’s top scorer of last season and is prepared to pay £12 million with a further £1.75 million in add-ons.
Bony’s agent Francis Kacou told the paper: “Six months ago, we made arrangements for a lump sum of 12m Euros, regardless of goals.
Kacou continued: “Swansea wanted to pay and Bony has seen that, but Vitesse wanted more. Now there is an offer of 14m plus 2 m in bonuses. Why is Bony still in Arnhem?
“We do not know what they want. West Ham United, Everton and Liverpool have been reported, but Swansea has made the best offer. I want clarity, and promise is a promise.
“One thing is for sure, he will not be playing for Vitesse this season.”
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is also thought to be interested but may be priced out of a possible move after the increase from the Liberty Stadium outfit.
