Swansea City are eyeing-up an ambitious swoop for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen this summer and look set to make their move following Euro 2016, where Allen is part of the Wales squad.
According to the Liverpool Echo the central midfielder is firmly on the Swans’ radar after Chairman Huw Jenkins admitted their interest.
The 26-year-old has just one-year left on his existing contract with Liverpool and it is unsure at this stage whether or not the club has any desire to keep him beyond the end of his current deal.
Swansea were keen to sign Allen back in January, although those plans were scuppered by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp who didn’t want anyone to leave the club during the winter transfer window.
With the German boss hopeful of stamping his own authority on the squad this summer it could pave the way for some players to leave, one of which could be Allen.
One Liverpool fan here in the Transfer Tavern is waiting for the Friday night karaoke to begin and he thinks that Allen still has a part to play for the club, stating that his form at the end of the season was good.
A Swansea fan is sat in front of the big screen here in the Tavern waiting for the Euros to kick-off and he would love to see Allen back at Swansea, stating that he was gutted when he was sold by the club originally.
Liverpool and Swansea fans, what do you make to this potential deal? Will he be a good addition to the current Swansea squad?
