Newcastle will be desperate to bring in a couple more players before the transfer window shuts prior to the start of the new campaign.
Rafa Benitez hasn’t exactly been blessed with the biggest of budgets this summer as he continues to make the most out of what he currently has at his disposal. And, it looks as if Mike Ashley’s tight budget is taking its toll, as according to Sun Sport, Newcastle face frustration as Swansea City have slapped a £10 million price tag on Federico Fernandez.
The Spaniard wanted to bring the defender in on loan to stay inside the tight budget that has been provided by Sports Direct mogul Mike Ashley.
But, Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez faces a new transfer frustration as Swansea have slapped a £10 million price tag on central defender Federico Fernandez.
Of course, with Leicester City hot on the heels of club captain Jamaal Lascelles, Benitez isn’t wasting any time in weighing up a move for a potential replacement to avoid being left short when the window shuts.
Jamaal Lascelles is attracting a lot of interest from fellow Premier League side Leicester City, so the Magpies have identified Federico Fernandez as a potential replacement for the Englishman. But, with his current club Swansea City slapping a £10 million price tag on him and rejecting any approach for a loan deal, it looks as if Newcastle may have to look elsewhere if they can’t afford to splash the cash.
