Our resident Swansea City fans who are hiding away in the corners of the Tavern may be tempted to make a move for the exit after reading a Sky Sports article which suggests that Sunderland have approached the Swans in an attempt to sign Andre Ayew.
The Black Cats are currently involved in a relegation scrap with Swansea and they could be set to claw away at the Welsh side in order to sign the forward, which has caused some raised voices over by the bar.
The 26-year old only joined Swansea at the beginning of the season after spending 8 years under contract at his former club Marseille, which included a couple of loan spells at other clubs.
Ayew moved to the Liberty Stadium on a free transfer from the Ligue 1 outfit and signed a four-year deal, which means that any sale to a Premier League rival would provide a profit.
However, Sky Sports believe that Swansea are keen to keep hold of the Ghana international who has been one of their key players this season and won both the club’s and the Premier League Player of the Month back in August following an impressive start to life in England.
Having scored 7 goals from 20 starts, Ayew is the Swans’ top goalscorer this season and our resident Swansea fans will be desperate to see him remain at the club as they look to avoid relegation.
Swansea fans, how important is Ayew as you look to avoid relegation? Let us know in the comments below!
