Swansea City have joined the race for Blackpool ace Thomas Ince as they look to take advantage of Liverpool’s inability to bring discussions for the winger to a close to the surprise of Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern.
It was assumed that the 20-year-old was set to return to Anfield in the new few days, just 18 months after departing Merseyside for the Tangerines.
However Brendan Rodgers has been left frustrated after his £5 million bid was rejected by Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston who wants around £7 million and that has opened up the prospect of Ince joining another Premier League side.
talkSPORT understands that the main contenders are Swansea who are prepared to pay the asking price to steal the highly-rated midfielder from under Rodgers’ nose.
Ince has been one of the star men this season in the Championship and the England Under-21 international has rightly earned plaudits for his recent displays and with his current deal at Bloomfield Road expiring at the end of the season, he looks certain to leave the club although his next destination still remains at large.
