The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Independent that claims Gareth Bale could be willing to take a pay cut to rejoin Spurs. The Welsh winger left North London back in 2013 and has won four Champions League trophies since he moved to Madrid, although now he could be poised to make a sensational switch back to the Premier League.

On Saturday, Gareth Bale was the star of the show in Kiev. The Welshman came off the bench in the second half with the game finely poised at 1-1, however, he quickly changed that when he scored a stunning overhead kick, lobbing the ball over Loris Karius and into the Liverpool net. He then followed that up by doubling his tally, and Real Madrid’s lead, when his tame 30-yard effort was spilt into the back of the net by a disheartened Karius.
The whole world was watching as Bale showed what he could do on the biggest stage of them all in club football and his comments after the game resembled a ‘come and get me’ plea to those interested. The Los Blancos star said that he needs to be playing football week in week out and since that’s not happened this season at the Bernabeu he claimed he’d be sitting down with his agent and discussing his future.
