Swedish insider hands Arsenal boost in chase for world superstar’s signature

IbrahimovicArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern haven’t enjoyed the best of seasons and there’s pressure upon the club this summer. Fortunately, there’s good news filtering through.

Metro quotes Swedish football journalist Olof Lundh has handing the Gunners a boost in the race for Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s signature, with the Swedish superstar becoming a free agent this summer.

Ibrahimovic is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain as the club’s record goalscorer and is eyeing a move to the Premier League but Manchester United are off the table, with the veteran preferring a move to London. Lundh stated:

‘I think he is looking to play in Europe at the top level and, of course, the Premier League is interesting for him. I think he would like to live in London. Whether that would be Chelsea, Arsenal or maybe even West Ham, we will see.’

‘I think when you talk to his colleagues in the national team in Sweden who play in the Premier League they all place him in Manchester United, of course with Jose Mourinho possibly coming in, but I’m not sure Ibrahimovic would like to live in Manchester.’

‘It also depends on whether Manchester United reach the Champions League for the next season.’

With Champions League football a necessity for luring Ibrahimovic, Arsenal seem to be at the front of the queue as it would require a massive finish for West Ham or Chelsea to steal a spot in the Premier League’s top-four.
