The Everton fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports of new name on the list of managerial targets for their club.
The Sun is reporting that Lucien Favre is now amongst the favourites to land the vacant manager’s job at Goodison Park.
Favre’s representatives contacted the Merseyside side club about his availability and the 58 year old has held initial talks with the board at Goodison Park.
The Swiss coach has a wealth of experience and guided Borussia Monchengladbach to the Champions League last season.
After a poor start to Bundesliga campaign this season Favre was shown the exit door with the club in the relegation places.
Favre has contacts in the English game with Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola close friends with the experienced coach.
It looks as though Everton are evaluating all candidates thoroughly and with talks with other potential managers set to take place over the next week it appears that no rush will be made over who will replace Roberto Martinez at the club.
The Everton fans in The Tavern are delighted that a manager like Favre is being linked with their club and believe the board have a tough choice to make about who will take the reigns at Goodison Park for next season.
