Arsenal

Talented £58.5m-rated forward is just so perfect for Arsenal this summer

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have grown increasingly frustrated following another below-par performance in their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. The result leaves Arsenal in sixth place just two points ahead of Burnley and their only chance of sealing qualification to the Champions League being Europa League success, although they must overcome a tricky semi-final against Atletico Madrid to stand a chance of that.

With the potential of a second consecutive season without Champions League football, fans around the bar can’t help but start discussing the rebuilding job that is needed at the Emirates Stadium this summer, to get the club back into Europe’s elite competition.

Since the departure of Alexis Sanchez in January to Manchester United, the Gunners have looked thin in terms of attacking options and creativity and one player who could fill that void would be United’s Anthony Martial, who has become increasingly frustrated with his playing time since the arrival of the Chilean. Valued at £58.5m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman is surely liked by Wenger and would definitely fit into the Arsenal system with some comparisons in his early United days with Thierry Henry, fans would love to see him make the move to London.

Despite the wideman’s impressive form in January before the arrival of Sanchez on the left-hand side, he was subsequently shifted onto the right of midfield where he struggled to make the same impact. With no goals and 1 assist since February, he has fallen out of favour under Mourinho, but there are no doubts to his talents in a season that has seen him score 11 and assist 10 goals despite his lack of starts under ‘The Special One.’

With the World Cup coming up and an even bigger summer approaching for Arsenal a rebuilding and spending spree is needed in order to propel the team back up the table into the top four.
