Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have a heavy-head this morning after celebrating their penalty shoot-out victory over Stoke City in the bar late into the night but they’ve found fresh life to debate this developing story.
Liverpool forward Sinclair impressed a number of scouts on Monday evening as he scored in an U21 match against Tottenham Hotspur, though interest in a deal this month has cooled with the Reds demanding £3m for his signature.
That’s a bold price for the highly-rated forward as the young striker sees his deal at Anfield expire in the summer. Watford are extremely keen on his services but are reluctant to pay the asking price, as he has just six months left on his current deal.
The Pozzo family, who own Watford, could strike a pre-contractual agreement with Sinclair this month with one of their other clubs, Udinese or Granada, and then loan the forward to Watford next season, whilst the Hornets could move to sign him in January and move him abroad on-loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Our landlord would like to see Sinclair try his luck abroad as he feels it’s about time an English player made a positive impact abroad.
Liverpool fans, is the exit of Sinclair a big loss? Let us know in the comments below!
