Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern haven’t stopped going on about all of their big money signings this summer; but it looks like one long-term target could be set for a new deal amid talk of a United move…
Whilst every top star in European football is seemingly keen on a move to Manchester under either Mourinho or Guardiola this summer – it appears that one such player is happy to stay down south as his career continues to progress.
Reece Oxford, the talented young West Ham starlet, has been linked with a move away from The Hammers for years, with a number of big money offers reportedly ready for the 17 year old.
Despite the prospect of a huge contract and a top new manager, Oxford is reportedly set to reject any advances from other clubs in order to stay with West Ham for the foreseeable future.
According to The Daily Mail, Oxford is keen to renew his contract at West Ham and stay with the club that he has grown up with as he bids for a first team role over the next few months.
With West Ham competing on a number of fronts this season, Oxford will get his opportunity to impress as the season progresses under Slaven Bilic.
The general consensus at the bar here in the Tavern is that the news is very refreshing; not often does a young star pick to stay at a low-level club in order to progress his career ahead of monetary gain at Europe’s elite clubs.
What do you think West Ham fans? Are you keen to see Oxford given a chance this season? Or would you take a big money offer from United?
