It’s been an exciting few weeks for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern. The Gunners invested heavily over the January transfer window, and their form on the pitch has been improving too.
In truth, it’s quickly beginning to look like it could be a decent season for the Gunners, with a flurry of stars impressing. One such player is young Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who has been a fairly regular feature in the Arsenal first team over the last month or two.
Typically a more offensive player, he has featured in a more defensive role throughout this season, and he’s been more than impressive.
Indeed, it appears as though Wenger is a big fan of the youngster, and according to ESPN, rewards could be coming his way. According to ESPN, Arsenal have opened talks with Maitland-Niles regarding a new deal, with Wenger impressed with his fine form.
It’s no less than he deserves, of course. At 20-years-old, the youngster does not look out of place amongst some of the Gunners’ more seasoned stars, and he certainly has a bright future ahead of him.
With Arsenal set to embark on an elongated fixture run between now and the end of the season, he’ll likely earn more minutes as the season continues, and that’s an exciting prospect for our resident Gunners.
An agreement doesn’t look imminent between the two parties, but it’s likely one that both would be interested in securing.
He’s emerging into a significant member of the first team for Arsenal, and he will likely recognise the further opportunities he could be handed throughout the rest of the season.
This deal makes sense.
