Talks planned for £60m Man United deal

The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been far from short of top names to discuss having been linked with an Old Trafford move this summer, however, they are all desperate to see one man stay put.

Three time Player of the Year David de Gea has once again be subject of interest from Real Madrid, who reportedly tabled a £60m offer for the Spaniard last month.

That offer was turned down, however, according to reports from Don Balon the back-to-back Champions League winners are not to be deterred and club President Florentino Perez has laid out his plans to open talks once a deal to take Galactico striker Alvaro Morata the other way is complete.

Mourinho has reportedly been keen to involve the 24-year-old goal scorer in any deal for his No.1 shot-stopper, however, it seems the Spanish champions have other ideas.

While our resident United fans are adamant De Gea has to stay put, our landlord has pointed out that they have perhaps the best understudy in the Premier League waiting in the wings in Sergio Romero, who would make a fine first choice option for Mourinho.
