Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted with the result against Chelsea at the weekend and will be hoping they can keep a number of their stars at the club this summer.
The Magpies’ impressive result against the Blues meant Rafa Benitez’s side finished their first season back in the Premier League in the top-half, despite many fearing that they would be one of the first teams to be relegated.
The locals in the bar will now be hoping that the club can improve on this position by bringing in a number of additions, whilst also keeping the manager at St. James’ Park, and could be set for good news in the coming days.
Spoke to Martin Dubravka after the game and he is hopeful to complete his move to #nufc "soon". Talks with the club and agent to follow.

According to Lee Ryder, who is The Newcastle Chronicle’s Chief Sports Writer, there are claims that Martin Dubravka is hopeful he will make his switch from Sparta Prague permanent in the coming days.
The Slovakia international has been a revelation since joining Newcastle on loan in January and has played a key role in the club’s efforts to survive in the Premier League and finish as high as possible.
The locals in the bar will be pleased that the club are set to start talks with the player’s club and representatives and will be hopeful that things can get sorted out quickly, therefore allowing the Toon Army to focus on other targets as well this summer.
