Despite claims that Arsene Wenger is refusing to sign any players in January, rumours suggest he could be in for Moroccan international Adel Taraabt.
The former Tottenham midfielder, 21, is now playing in the championship for league leaders Queens Park Rangers where he has become a revelation over the past year and a half. He is now the club captain and he is held in high regard by the QPR board. He is valued at between £8m-£14m, money which Arsenal have at their disposal.
Taarabt was once described as the “most skillful player I have ever seen” by former boss Harry Redknapp but a lack of discipline and no final ball in particular, saw him shipped out on loan to The Hoops. He signed at the beginning of the season and his reputation has since gone sky high after some outstanding displays and some great goals.
He is close with Abou Diaby at Arsenal and he is very good friends with his Moroccan team-mate Marouane Chamakh. His style of play will suit Arsenal so he will fit in well at the club but has his final ball improved dramatically? Surely it must be better than Theo Walcott’s? Does Taraabt actually pass it now?
Spurs fans will all tell you the talent his possesses is as good as anyone, the skills he has is incredible and he gets the fans on their feet but he can certainly be very frustrating to watch.
