It is becoming a transfer saga to rival that of Cesc Fabregas for punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern and now it seems that according to Setanta.com, Leandro Damiao still won’t rule out a move to Tottenham.
The club have been admiring the player for a long time now – long before Andre Villas Boas joined the club and in a twist of fate, the manager himself had also wanted to sign the player during his time at Chelsea. It seems that Damiao is set for a move from current side Internacional but to where remains debatable.
Now the player himself has spoken out about the constant links over his future and claimed: “I know of Tottenham’s interest in me but I am happy to wait until the president of my club lets me know something official,” he told the Sunday Mirror.
“I would prefer to play in a team that is in the Champions League, but the most important thing is that they share the same ambition that I have.”
AVB’s side have of course made two bids in the last 12 months for the player and have seen both rejected yet will now look to kick on with their transfer pursuit of the forward and finally hope to land him.
