The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that Marouane Fellaini will be unavailable for the club’s trip to the London Stadium tomorrow evening as the combative midfielder recovers from a muscular injury. The news has gone down really well with the fans, who would all rather see him dropped anyway.

Fellaini has divided opinion among the United fans. Whilst the big Belgian’s blunt style and ability to enable Jose Mourinho’s side to play long-ball football is effective and can prove useful, it couldn’t be further from ‘The United way’ that the fans got used to in Sir Alex Ferguson’s era. Although with David Moyes, Louis Van Gaal and now Mourinho all warming to the effectiveness of Fellaini, the fans have to put up with him.
Tomorrow’s clash with West Ham can only be described as a dead rubber for both sets of fans. West Ham had the Premier League survival confirmed when they edged out Leicester City 2-0 at The King Power Stadium, whilst United have ensured a 2nd place finish and are now just counting down the days until the FA Cup final where they’ll be looking for their 3rd major honour under Mourinho since his appointment ahead of last season.
