Club England managing director Adrian Bevington has announced the following…
“We enjoyed working with Sven Goran Eriksson and we have Fabio Capello. However, I think the English team should be managed by an English manager in the future.”
Enjoyed? Are you sure, Ade, I would have used the word endured.
“A lot of people have a very different view of Fabio Capello to the one they had before the World Cup.”
That’s more accurate. Many people thought he was a convincing bet going into the tournament and by the time England had been thrown out of it, they were convinced he was an idiot.
“Our job is to support him as best we can. Maybe we can help him and maybe now is the time to improve communications between manager and players.”
That’s an idea. Get all the players and back room staff together, organize a surprise party for Fabio. Lead him into a darkened room and then whack the lights on to reveal a massive lit cake bearing the words, You’re Fired in frosting.
See if he can translate that.
