‘That’s captain material’, ‘Legend’ – Liverpool fans on Twitter hail improving talent after post-match interview

The resident Kopites in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely delighted with their side’s 4-0 victory against Bournemouth yesterday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp’s side travelled to the South-Coast to face Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium yesterday hoping to claim their first victory in three games after recording back-to-back home draws in the Premier League. The Reds never looked likely to make it a hat-trick of draws as they comfortably dispatched of the Cherries and climbed back into the top-four following an emphatic victory. Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino were plenty to ensure Liverpool returned to Merseyside with all three-points and a second clean sheet in as many games.

Liverpool’s midfield-magician Coutinho continued his excellent form of late with a goal and an assist to cap a brilliant performance.

Although Coutinho’s impact in recent weeks has delighted the The Reds faithful lining up the bar in the tavern, they are concerned that his performances will encourage FC Barcelona to make a fresh bid for his services in the January transfer window.

With doubts regarding his future still lingering in the media, Coutinho was faced with an awkward question about his commitment to the club following Liverpool’s victory over Bournemouth.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was stood next to the Barcelona target during the interview, and he promptly stepped in to confidently dismiss the question as “unfair” considering the commitment he has seen from his team-mate this year.

It is fair to say that Chamberlain’s conduct during the interview has been praised in abundance by the Liverpool supporters who are really starting to appreciate his value both on and off the field.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Oxlade-Chamberlain’s defence of Coutinho.
