It’s been a tough season down at the Etihad for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola but he’s successfully secured third-place which means Champions League football is on the cards.
The Citizens supporters that have been lining the bar here in the pub all season haven’t been at all impressed with what they’ve seen throughout the whole of the campaign but going forward, there are some real foundations to be built on.
But there’s one man that won’t be a part of anything else going forward and that’s Jesus Navas. The Spaniard was released earlier this week, meaning his spell in Manchester comes to an end.
He’s been a big part of proceedings at the Etihad in recent years and there’s thought that the £12.7million-rated winger still has some unfinished business in the Premier League and we certainly agree.
But where should he be headed? Well, our Gunners-mad landlord seems to think he’d be a handy addition down at the Emirates and he’s certainly got a point.
Navas has been playing in at full-back during large parts of this campaign and has done well. It’s the sort of system we’ve seen from time to time under Wenger this season and it’s a system that has wielded some success going forward.
Navas is quick, experienced and obviously, can play further up the pitch too. But Arsenal need reinforcements over the summer and with the likes of Lucas Perez really not fulfilling expectation as expected, Wenger needs to start thinking outside the box.
This could be an excellent start.
Arsenal fans- would you be happy if the club made a move for Navas this summer? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
