The £20m-rated Arsenal forward who’d be better off staying at the Emirates to fight for his place under Wenger

Arsenal will be hoping for a stronger campaign next time around in the Premier League as the pressure on the shoulders of Arsene Wenger continues to show.

The Gunners decided to keep faith with their under-fire manager for the upcoming campaign and despite their FA Cup win last season, the pressure very much remains on the shoulders of the Frenchman moving forward.

This summer is one of the biggest we’ve seen in North London in years and Wenger must bring in the right players to improve the squad and make the supporters happy ahead of the opening day of the season.

But it’s important to note that Arsenal need to start stepping up their game in the transfer market. Manchester City have started strongly this summer and the Gunners really need to start showing that they’ve got some transfer metal too.

And there’s one player currently on the books at Arsenal that seems to divide the supporters that line the bar here in the pub and that’s French striker Olivier Giroud.

The £20million-rated striker has been linked with a move away from the Emirates over the coming weeks and months but there is a pocket of supporters arguing his case here in the bar and we agree with their point of view.

Granted, he might not be a gamechanging striker like Spurs have in Harry Kane or Everton in Romelu Lukaku but he’s a striker that has scored goals during his time in England- and some big ones too.

His ability to hold up the ball, bring his team-mates into games and score big goals at good times has been a real asset for Arsenal over the past couple of years.

He’s a player that doesn’t get as nearly as much credit as he probably deserves and one that Arsenal might be better off sticking with for at least one more season.

Arsenal fans- how much do you rate the Frenchman? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
