The £4.25m-rated Championship striker who could fire West Ham up the table in the 2017/18 season

West Ham United have had a bit of an underwhelming season this year, and manager Slaven Bilic will no doubt be keen to get it out of the way and start again going into the next season.

The Hammers fans who have been in the Tavern this year have no doubt been subdued in the main, and have certainly not been their usual boisterous selves when it comes to enjoying themselves over by the pool table.

However, the summer transfer window gives Bilic and the Hammers a chance to go and add some real quality to their squad with the intention of going again next term and having an improved season in the 2017/18 campaign.

One player who we think the Hammers could look to sign is Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri, who is currently valued at £4,25m by website Transfermarkt.

The dynamic little number 10 has arguably been the Owls’ best player over the last two years, and he could well be ready to make the step up to the Premier League and prove himself among the nations elite.

Forestieri is a real talent, and whether he plays just off the striker, out wide, or as a direct number nine, he is always a danger for the opposition. Sheffield Wednesday might well end up getting promoted themselves this year via the playoffs, but if not, then Forestieri would be an excellent signing for West Ham.

Hammers fans, what do you think? Would he be a good buy? Let us know in the comments!
