The £5.5m-rated Watford forward who needs to outperform Troy Deeney next season

It’s not been the strongest of seasons for Watford in the Premier League and you might have wandered if their status would have been more at risk if they’d lost more games at the start of the campaign!

The Hornets have been in poor form in recent weeks and have begun to slowly slide down the table but going forward, they should have just enough to preserve their Premier League status.

After being comprehensively beaten by Leicester City this weekend, it’s clear that Watford fans here in the Tavern want to see changes in the squad this summer, with some players really not competing to a high enough level.

And one man that is at-risk of falling into that category is Nigerian frontman Stefano Okaka, who has struggled having signed for the club last summer.

The £5.5m-rated forward has made only 18 appearances for Mazzarri’s side this campaign with most of those coming from the bench, scoring just three goals in the process.

But he’s a man that has superb potential to do well at this level and you get the impression if he’s playing regularly, he might be the difference between staying in the league and relegation next season.

Troy Deeney has been nowhere near as prolific as he has been in the past this season and it seems like the Hornets are craving another forward to really step up and take the pressure off his shoulders.

Okaka could be that man but he needs his manager to put faith in him. He’s big, strong and quick and would give plenty of defenders at this level a hard time.

Watford fans- can you see Okaka having a bright future at Vicarage Road? Leave your thoughts down below!
