Liverpool will be delighted with their weekend and will be heading into next week off the back of an excellent victory against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Despite a title challenge looking a long way away, the Reds will continue to look to push City and neighbours United at the top, and it should make for an excellent second half to the season.
Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks the Reds need to add a few world class additions to the ranks, and he’s been thinking long and hard about who could genuinely come into the club and improve the squad.
He thinks that French midfielder Thomas could go on to be an absolute superstar at Anfield if Liverpool could sign him though, and alongside the incoming Naby Keita, it would give Liverpool a world class platform to build on in the middle of the park.
The midfielder is a powerhouse with a great touch, capable of slotting in across all the attacking midfield positions to devastating effect.
Despite only notching two goals this season, his form last term prompted Arsenal to lodge a bid of over £70m for the France midfielder, and Liverpool have already shown they are not afraid to go and spend the big money on players they really fancy.
At 22, Lemar has years and time on his side, and he could well become a Liverpool legend if Jurgen Klopp can orchestrae a deal for the player in the next few windows.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
