As we enter the final two weeks of this incredible 2013/14 season, we find ourselves in a position of having witnessed almost half of the teams change manager over the course of the campaign.
Fulham (twice), Sunderland, Tottenham, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Manchester United have all axed the men who they begun the campaign with, and as the season draws to a close, a few Arsenal fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are wishing their club were also on that list.
It’s been an up and down campaign for Arsene Wenger, who started with a frustrating transfer window which ended in a club record signing, before a stint at the top of the table, before what is becoming a customary mid season collapse.
Their saving grace has been their run to the FA Cup final, which sees them take on Hull City in three weeks in a bid to end their nine season trophy drought.
That coupled with Champions League qualification would be considered a step in the right direction, but those wanting a serious title and Champions League challenge believe a change of manager is necessary.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp is the fans favourite to succeed Wenger, and whilst the German remains committed to his Bundesliga side, Arsenal fans have dared to dream and come up with their ideal starting XI under Klopp’s leadership next season.
