Liverpool

The England U20 hero that could prove to be Klopp’s shrewdest piece of business in the transfer window

It’s been a fantastic day for English football as the U20’s team successfully held on to secure the World Cup, thanks to a 1-0 win over Venezuela in Suwon.

Thanks to a Dominic Calvert-Lewin strike, the Young Lions held on for a momentous victory- England’s first World Cup victory since that famous day in 1966.

It’s got the drinkers here in the bar united in joy but it’s the Liverpool fans who are shouting loudest about one man in particular- Dominic Solanke.

The Chelsea man is set to join the Reds after a tribunal regarding a transfer fee at the start of July. The striker has been in red hot form throughout the international tournament and Reds fans have seen some very promising glimpses of their future signing.

The 19-year-old only made a handful of appearances in the Premier League 2 this season but he’s shown in Korea that he’s set to be a real star and a player that Liverpool fans should be getting excited about sooner rather than later.

He’s quick, strong and has a real eye for goal too and after Liverpool’s struggles to hit the back of the net through an out-and-out frontman this season, he’s an individual that could prove to be one of the biggest signings of the summer for Jurgen Klopp.

Of course, more additions are set to follow and more money to be spent but the relatively low sum that is expected to be paid for Solanke could turn out to be one of the signings of the summer if his form in this tournament is anything to go by.

Reds fans should be very excited about this young man indeed and hats off to Klopp for securing a deal.

Liverpool fans- have you been impressed with the form shown by Solanke so far? Leave your thoughts down below!
