The regulars at the Transfer Tavern are scratching their heads over the form of Swansea City this season.

Indeed, the Swans came flying out blocks, picking up a possible 8 points out of 12 in August, including a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea, and a 2-1 home victory over Manchester United.

Several players for Swansea were doing fantastic, Batefimbi Gomis just couldnt stop scoring, Jefferson Montero was giving full-backs nightmares, while new signing Andre Ayew looked like he had been playing in the Premier League for years.

However, fast forward two months to early November, and Swansea have now only added 5 points to the impressive eight they had coming in September, and no-one seems to understand why.

The goals have dried up for Gomis, Ayew continues to do well, while a usually solid Swansea back-five have been leaking goals of late, including a 3-0 home defeat to Arsenal.

Despite this, manager Garry Monk is surely the man to turn this stuttering form around, and it will surely be sooner rather than later, that Swansea begin to look an imposing outfit again.

For this to happen, Swansea will not only need their big stars firing on all cylinders, but will need their unsung heroes to pick the team up and get them going again.

Ki-Sung Yeung

Ki

I don't think I have known a defensive midfielder to score more goals that Ki-Sung Yeung does. The South Korean is as good as any holding player on his day, where he expertly breaks up attack after attack.

The former Celtic and Sunderland man was greatly missed by the Swans when he was sent on-loan to the Stadium of Light in 2014, and is simply a vital player in their side.

Leon Britton

Leon Britton

Britton has played almost 12 years for the South Wales side, and though he may not be the player he once was, he is still perfectly capable of popping up with top class performances when called upon.

Having represented the club in all four divisions, Monk's former team mate is a vital player in the dressing room, and his experience and know-how of Swansea is of an importance that shouldn't be underestimated.

Wayne Routledge

Wayne Routledge

Routledge will often be remembered by many as a Premier League journeyman who may have never reached his full potential. However, going into his fourth year at the Liberty, he has now found somewhere to call home.

Though his great work may sometimes go under the radar, due to the performances of his wing partner Montero, he is still a great member of the side. If Routledge adds a bit more consistency to his game, he could finish his career with his head held high.

Kyle Naughton

Kyle Naughton

Naughton may be remembered for having a bit of a torrid time at Tottenham Hotspur, but the former Sheffield man has a great chance to revive his career at Swansea.

A player with plenty of promise going forward, Naughton is another who needs to add a bit more consistency to his game. If he is able to work on his defensive duties a little more, he could enjoy a fine and steady career in South Wales.

Jack Cork

Jack Cork

The former Chelsea youth product is another who like Ki-Sung Yeung, may see his work in central midfield go a little under the radar, with more taking notice of the likes of Jonjo Shelvey and Gylffi Siggurdson. Cork plays a very tidy game in the middle of the park, often breaking up attacks very well.

Though it has never been a huge aspect of his game, Swansea fans may want to see him contribute a few more goals a season. Nevertheless, he is another important member of the side.
