Manchester United are still failing to live up the days of the Sir Alex Ferguson era, and despite Jose Mourinho adding some element of that old style back into their play, they remain short of those glory days.
Key to that success back in the 90’s and 2000’s was a host of world class players including the likes of Roy Keane, David Beckham, and our landlord’s favourite Man United legend, Ryan Giggs.
The Welsh wizard was simply brilliant in his day and seemed to almost get better with age, changing from pacey winger to creative central midfielder as his career progressed.
The club have failed to replace the likes of Giggs ever since his retirement, but our landlord thinks that one player currently impressing in Europe could come in and come close to emulating Giggs, and that man is Spanish winger Iker Muniain.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has been in tremendous form over the last few seasons and has attracted some serious interest from some of Europe’s big boys, and it’s surely only a matter of time before he gets his move and big break at one of the big boys.
Muniain is a quality operator down the left hand side and still has plenty of time to develop his game and improve, while the chance to play at Old Trafford and impress under a manager like Mourinho would be an opportunity that is too good to turn down for the winger.
The Spaniard deserve his chance at the highest level, and move to United could give him the platform to become a world class operator.
