The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from their Brazilian forward, Roberto Firmino after the 26-year-old put pen to paper to extend his Anfield stay. The forward spoke to the Liverpool website after signing his deal and claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s arrival has helped the whole team and that results on the pitch are starting to show because of it.
"The manager coming to the football club was not only good for me, but for the whole team."

Firmino has become a real fan favourite with the Anfield crowd, with his incredible end product providing both goals and assists for the team helping his cause. The Brazilian star signed from Hoffenheim in summer 2015 and is currently enjoying his third season on Merseyside. This current season has been Firmino’s most successful as he’s partnered with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to become one-third of the deadliest strike force in Europe this season.
The 26-year-old has bagged 27 goals and 16 assists in his 50 appearances this season, although he’s been most prolific in Europe, scoring ten goals and setting up a further seven in just 11 games. “Bobby”, as he’s so affectionately known in Liverpool, could be on his way to a first major honour in the form of the Champions League. Liverpool are two wins away from lifting old big ears after putting Roma to the sword 5-2 at Anfield last week. Things are looking up for the Reds, and with Firmino tied down to a long-term contract, it’ll only get better.
Taking that into account, here’s what our local Kopites have been saying about Firmino:
Hope he is loyal and doesn’t do what others did after signing long contracts
