16-year old Swedish Starlet, Smajl Suljevic, will be signed by Stoke in January. The youngster, who has spent the last couple of weeks on trial with the Potteries side, has impressed boss Tony Pulis and has been offered a two year deal by the club.
Suljevic has been playing for Kurdish-Swede club, Dalkurd FF and although compensation will need to be finalised with the club, the youngster, who has been tipped as the new Anders Svennson and the new Kim Kallstrom by various media outlets back home, will be at the Brit come the new year.
This deal is evidently one that is looking to the future, in a similar style to the one that brought Uruguayan, Diego Arismendi to the club at the start of last season.
‘Who is Arismendi?’
I’m not surprised you asked, not too many people outside of Barnsley actually know him either. The 22-year old is currently on loan there for the entire season from Stoke.
It’s a bit of a fall from grace that, from National/Penarol derbies and 2 full Uruguayan caps to the Yorkshire town of Barnsley.
So, will Suljevic be the new Kallstrom, or the new Arismendi?
