The Last 5 Games – Tom Jinks Predicts

After being dumped out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich this week, Manchester United will be focusing on retaining their Premier League crown and putting their defeat against Chelsea last week behind them. Two points behind leaders Chelsea, United have the easier run-in as Chelsea still have to face Liverpool and Spurs, as well as competing in the FA Cup. For United, it all depends on the fitness of Wayne Rooney. The England striker will definitely miss the games against Blackburn and it is uncertain when he will return. Here are my prediction’s for United’s last five games:

Buy authentic signed sports memorabilia - Football shirts, boots, prints and photos

Sunday, 11 April v Blackburn (A)

Even with Rooney, out I can’t see United having any problems disposing of Blackburn, as they have won the last four league and cup games against them.

Prediction: Man United win

Saturday, 17 April v Man City (A)

The Manchester derby is the game that will make or break United’s title challenge. Both sides will be up for it, United need it to win the title and City in a bid to secure fourth place. United won the previous meeting at Old Trafford thanks to a last gasp goal from Michael Owen, but City are dominant at home and will provide a tough test.

Prediction: Draw

Saturday, 24 April v Tottenham (H)

Like City, Spurs need to win this game to secure fourth place and this game is key for them. United beat Tottenham in a similar game last season at Old Trafford, coming from two goals down and going on to win the match. The game could go either way, but I believe United will prevail.

Prediction: Man United win

Saturday, 1 May v Sunderland (A)

On their day, Sunderland can beat the top clubs but I believe United will have no problems here. I’m going for a United win.

Prediction: United win

Sunday, 9 May v Stoke (H)

The final game of the season, which all depends on other results and whether Arsenal and Chelsea win all their other games. If it comes down to the final day of the season, United can beat Stoke if they have to. Stoke are great at home, but seeing as this is at Old Trafford, I can see United winning.

Prediction: United win
