One positive to take out of the 2012/13 season for Liverpool will be the emergence of so much young talent.
Brendan Rodgers’ first season in charge has proved challenging at times, but despite no silverware and the very unlikely chance of Champions League football returning to Anfield next season, there have been steady signs of improvement, alongside the emergence of some potential future heroes.
Raheem Sterling has taken the majority of the headlines, but the likes of Jonjo Shelvey, Suso, and Andre Wisdom have all featured prominently and shown maturity beyond their young years (with the exception of Shelvey who thought it would be a good idea to berate Sir Alex Ferguson in front of an audience of millions after being sent off against Manchester United earlier in the season!).
The question that remains is what will happen to all this young talent next season, especially as the club are due to have several players returning from loan.
Here we take a look at five Liverpool youngsters who have been sent out on loan this season, how they have fared, and the likelihood of them making an Anfield return in the near future.
