The Liverpool ‘transfer XI’ they could’ve had this summer

Ogenyi OnaziLiverpool supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are discussing what was a hectic transfer window it has been over a pint or two.

Luis Suarez left for £75 million, the only other striker who comes close in terms of controversy was signed as a replacement, along with eight other new faces.

The Reds also said goodbye to long serving hero’s Daniel Agger and Pepe Reina, whilst a whole host of squad players left Anfield on loan.

Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic, Divock Origi, Javier Manquillo, Alberto Moreno and of course Balotelli are the new faces at Anfield.

But there could have been even more according to the press – enough for a whole starting eleven!

Liverpool were linked with more players than most over the course of the transfer window, with it common knowledge to everyone that Brendan Rodgers had at least £75 million to spend.

Reds supporters on the whole are happy with the signings brought in, but here we have identified eleven players who could – and perhaps in some cases should – have ended up at Anfield as well this summer.
