For all the talent in the Man City squad and their superb brand of football, Pep Guardiola's men still find themselves off the pace in the race for the title.

A win against Liverpool in the Premier League last time out and hammerings of Burton and Rotherham in the cup since will have done wonders for morale and confidence across the squad, and they will be keen to get back to life in the league this weekend.

Guardiola's men are all quality players, but over the years we have become accustomed to the likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and Kevin De Bruyne taking the plaudits as being the main men behind their success.

However, this season has seen a number of players step up to the plate, and one man in particular has shown his worth of late with some huge performances.

That man is Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva, who has been simply superb for City when deployed in a number of positions.

His showing against Liverpool was particularly impressive, and after what some deemed a slow start to his career at the Etihad, Silva has really started to show his worth to the club.

Silva is the sort of player who never panics, and is comfortable in possession in tight situations, something Pep Guardiola will love.

He's also added goals and assists to his game too, something which was always going to be vital if he was going to be a success in the English game following his big money move from Monaco.

While other players will still be seen as key men for the Cityzens, we think Silva is right up there with the best in the squad, and if he can maintain his form and fitness, the City might well catch Liverpool at the summit.

City fans, what do you think to Silva's performances? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
