Last week’s bet, nigh on my life, was ruined by Tottenham on Saturday. Having correctly predicted Liverpool would draw at Birmingham the bet couldn’t fail. The match at St Andrews was the riskier of the two, and it came in.
So all I needed was for Champions League playing, title challenging, Van der Vaart signing Tottenham to beat yoyo team West Brom. If you didn’t know it finished 1-1. What the f*** was that all about?
Enough with the moaning (grrr Tottenham) and onto this weekend’s bet. I’ve gone rather risqué this week through my sheer greed. So….
West Brom vs. Birmingham DRAW 2/1 and Sunderland vs. Arsenal DRAW 5/2
This double will get you a very tasty 9/1.
Now for explaining myself. West Brom got a draw last week at home to Tottenham (grrr), a side considered better than Birmingham. So the Baggies are capable of getting something against their neighbours. In a derby though, I don’t expect anyone to come out victorious. These games are usually scrappy, tense affairs with challenges flying in all over the place. A draw seems obvious to me.
You may wonder why I’ve risked my neck by betting Sunderland to get a draw with Arsenal. Well, it’s instinct. That’s it. Having watched Arsenal tear Braga apart midweek I think they may come crashing back down to Earth at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland has threat up front with Bent and Gyan, and despite their superiority over Braga the Gunners still got caught at the back once or twice.
It wouldn’t be unlike football for Arsenal to go from hero to zero in three days.
Good luck gambling and no I don’t reimburse you if you put the bet on and it loses 🙂
