The Manchester City fans have been in fine spirits in the Transfer Tavern ever since their side recorded a 3-0 victory over Arsenal at Wembley to claim the Carabao Cup.
Pep Guardiola won his first trophy as manager of Man City on Sunday afternoon with a comfortable win over a lacklustre Arsenal side at the home of English football. The Spanish manager will be hoping that this trophy merely represents the first of many this season as he aims to lift both the Premier League and the Champions League before the season reaches its conclusion.
The Citizens faithful propping up our bar in the tavern were not only delighted with their club’s success, but also with the manner in which they claimed the trophy, as Guardiola handed plenty of opportunities to his fringe players en route to the final.
The likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Claudio Bravo, Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz were all handed rare starting berths in the early rounds of the competition and gained some valuable first-team experience in the process. And the latter took to Twitter yesterday to thank the supporters for their messages following City’s success on Sunday afternoon.
What an amazing day it was! My first professional trophy. Thank you very much for all your messages! Come on City! pic.twitter.com/bdRc8znEYv

At just 18-years-old, Diaz was mightily impressive in his Carabao Cup display against Leicester City in December, and his cameo appearances in both the Champions League and the Premier League have certainly caught the eye of the onlooking City supporters.
Diaz has regularly expressed a willingness to drive at his opponents and utilise his dazzling speed and agility to take on defenders in dangerous positions, so it’s no surprise the supporters have replied to Diaz’s tweet with lavish admiration for the young Spaniard.
Here’s what the City fans on Twitter have had to say in response to Diaz’s post…
You and Phil are the future mate
