It’s been a superb couple of weeks for the England U20’s outfit who have successfully won the youth world cup out in Korea.
There were some fantastic individual performances amongst the whole squad but the fact it’s the national team’s first big win on the national stage since the 1966 World Cup speaks volume as to how well the Young Lions have done.
It’s rejoiced the England fans here in the bar, with all of them coming together to show their appreciation at the next crop of future England stars but it’s safe to say certain corners of the pub are certainly more delighted than others.
And it’s the Red corner of the Tavern that is really alive right now, with the Liverpool fans over the moon with what they’ve seen from new signing Dominic Solanke, who looks set to move to Anfield at the start of July.
The 19-year-old won player of the tournament out in career despite his struggles domestically last season and it’s speaks volumes for his continued development at this level.
And as you can imagine, Twitter has had a lot to say on his performance after the 1-0 win over Venezuela- here’s the best of the fallout…
England won a football tournament! 2017 is a weird year..anyway congrats to Solanke and Ojo #U20WorldCup
