The one manager that could get Sunderland back to their best and into the Premier League once again

There are some seriously tough times on the horizon for Sunderland after their relegation from the Premier League.

The Black Cats find themselves managerless after David Moyes left the club and the search continues for the right man to take them forward and back into the top flight.

There’s been hectic discussion amongst the Black Cats supporters here in the pub too, with many fans having different opinions on who should take them forward with a busy summer of transfer activity expected.

But there’s one name that keeps cropping up and that’s former Leeds United boss Garry Monk, who left the job at Elland Road earlier this week.

The former Swansea City manager failed to come to an agreement with the new bosses in regards to a new long-term deal and it ultimately left him leaving the club he very nearly led into the play-offs.

He became a popular figure down in Yorkshire in just a few months in-charge at Elland Road and there’s plenty of evidence that suggests he’s one of the brighter young English managers in the game.

And that’s why he’d get the fire burning on Wearside once again. Sunderland need a manager that is going to come in, give the players the boost they need and get the football talking once again.

Monk isn’t afraid to be outspoken, nor will he fail in protecting his players. Granted, they came just short this season but at Sunderland, he could be the person to get those players playing with confidence yet again.

Sunderland fans- would you like to see Garry Monk take the job? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
