Whilst the Arsenal section in the Transfer Tavern is normally buoyant, it is remaining remarkably silent today…
Hot on the heels of a 2-0 win against Hull City at the weekend, many in the pub were expecting a decent performance against Bayern Munich last night – but that certainly isn’t what they got.
A collapse from the Gunners in the second-half saw David Ospina ship 4 goals – with 45 minutes of hard work undone by the German giants.
It had far more to do with Arsenal’s poor showing than it did with Bayern Munich’s performance – and the side have, rightly, been criticised for that.
From fans to pundits, many are criticising Arsenal and the way that the side was managed and how the players played – and it is all starting to get a little bit messy at the Emirates.
However, crucially for Arsene Wenger, it would appear as though, if nothing else, a section of Arsenal’s fan base is still behind him – and many of them have taken to twitter to defend his decision and his tenure in charge of the Gunners.
See what they thought below…
The players let Wenger down, shame on them #Arsenal

The players let Arsenal down last night not Wenger ! Ozil needs to be sold but I doubt we would get 20m for him now complete waste of space

Half the players don't deserve the legend Wenger. They have let a great man down even when he has shown great faith in them.

Why do non of our players every get criticised? Only Wenger. He's given his life for the club and the players have let him down

Players need to have a look at themselves as well mind. Not all Wengers fault when your players effectively end the tie #BAYARS
