Well, it seems like everyone else has had their say so I might as well have mine:
Manchester United: Nobody’s squad depth at the top end is that good so everyone is going to lose games to a degree they wouldn’t in the past. As a result, I think this Premiership title could be won by fewer points than ever before. Games like the Aston Villa game prove to me that, when the chips are down, United will battle for it harder and want it more. THAT will get them over the top.
Arsenal: Once again, Arsenal will drop short. Why? Because they are becoming the specialists at just falling short, that’s why! They will make too many mistakes at the back for their creativity up the other end to make up for it.
Chelsea: No Terry, No Alex, No Title Hope. Sunderland has unlocked the door that all teams will attempt to stomp through. Not all teams will manage it, because not all teams have the pace up front that Sunderland do and have the game defensively that Sunderland did, but enough will to wipe the floor with Chelsea’s title ambitions.
Stoke: They cause trouble for teams, are defensively strong, play within their limitations and are good at it. Add to that fact that, in players like Pennant they have real quality once they get the ball into the final third…ok, I’m joking. I went to Uni in Stoke and have a soft spot for them. However, this proves how difficult that 4th spot is to pick, Tottenham, Man City, Liverpool are all much of a muchness and that opens it up for Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa and YES, STOKE!
And for any of you wondering, the top four in my lot’s league?
Crawley Town, Luton Town, AFC Wimbledon, Darlington
