So after their midweek exploits in Europe, the Gunners return to Premier League action against Fulham at the Emirates. The Gunners have been faltering recently, losing to Norwich, Schalke and Manchester United. They struggled in the Capital One Cup against reading, against QPR at home and this week gave away a 2-0 lead away in Germany. Arsene Wenger will be keen for his team to get back on track and impress against Martin Jol’s side.
Arsene himself has called the atmosphere ‘flat’ recently and has urged the home fans to raise the roof this weekend. Jack Wilshere will be suspended for the game whilst Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will face late fitness tests. Expect the Gunners to remain unchanged for this weekend’s game, with Giroud set to start.
Fulham have never enjoyed any luck at Arsenal, losing 13 out of 14 games and drawing the other. However, Martin Jol’s boys have made an impressive start to the season and in Dimitar Berbatov have a class act. The Cottagers are unbeaten in four and will be looking to leap-frog the Gunners by beating them at the Emirates this weekend.
However, I expect Arsenal to return to winning ways this weekend. They will need to work on their defensive frailties which have surfaced once again and also will need to shine in the final third, with Podolski and Cazorla running the show.
