As the Liverpool v Swansea match approaches, I would not expect that many neutrals will be watching the game over the one at Stamford Bridge. However if form is anything to go by I expect this game to be as evenly matched.
They say form is temporary and class is permanent. As it stands at the moment Swansea edge Liverpool by 1 point in the table, which will be great reading for Swansea fans, however Liverpool will be hoping that is temporary. Both sides are licking their wounds after a busy transfer window, with departures of key men leaving Liverpool short of striking option and Swansea short on quality.
Tonight’s match should give us a good indication of were these teams will finish up. However I’ve seen enough resilience so far in both these teams to make me believe that it could a good year for both these clubs.
As reunions go their doesn’t come many as interesting as today’s match-up, with reminiscent names Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen welcoming the South Wales contingent to the red cauldron that is Anfield. While in many ways this match can be seen a good judge of how far Brendan has come since moving from Swansea to Liverpool. Laudrup has also got the perfect chance to put his mark on this Swansea side by beating their previous manger away from home. Although this will be a tough match for both sides, I think Liverpool will take advantage of the fact Michel Vorm is injured for this match by winning the game 2-1. That is my prediction.
Liverpool: Jones, Wisdom, Carragher, Coates, Enrique, Downing, Henderson, Shelvey, Sahin, Assaidi, Yesil.
Swansea: Tremmel, Rangel, Monk, Williams, Tiendalli, Routledge, De Guzman, Britton, Gower, Michu, Graham.
